The mystery of lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and one of the most mysterious. What lurks in the depths of the lake? How did the salt lake at this altitude in the Andes? Why in the lake there are sea animals which live in the Pacific? Any ruins of ancient buildings located on the lake shore? Who were the mysterious builders, gone forever? There are more questions than answers. Of course, there are various scientific hypotheses, but they do not give exhaustive answers and contradict each other, and the mystery remains unresolved.
The ruins of the pyramid of Akapana.
Titicaca – Alpine lake located on the border of the two countries – Peru and Bolivia. It is located at an altitude of 3812 meters above sea level, just below Mont Blanc and above the Fuji and the area of 8300 square kilometers. A study of the topography of the Andes, the fauna and the chemical composition of lakes and other water bodies has shown that once the lake is located at 3750 meters lower than now, and was a sea Bay!
Geologists believe that lake Titicaca was part of the sea about a hundred million years ago, it is still populated predominantly marine fish and crustaceans; on the slopes of the traces of the sea, and on the shores of the lake – fossils of marine animals. Geologists say that the Andes are young mountains rising, their ascent continues today, but progress has been uneven– stronger in the North than in the South. As a result of a natural disaster from the Gulf, the lake was formed, it has risen along with the mountains. This is not surprising, Geology knows many such examples.
Amazing enough, near lake Titicaca lie the ruins of the ancient city of Tiahuanaco (Tiahuanaco), which, in the opinion of the famous Bolivian scientist Professor Arthur Poznansky, once stood on the shore of the lake. But the ruins of the city are now in twenty kilometers South of the lake and 30 meters above the shoreline! It turns out that either the water level in the lake dropped significantly since the construction of the city, either as a result of another catastrophe has risen, the rocky base, on which stands the city.
The Professor believes that even before the emergence of the first human civilizations the rise of the Altiplano plateau from the ocean floor was slow, but after the occurrence of lake Titicaca and built Tiahuanaco there was a sharp sudden increase of the plateau.
The question arises, when was this city built? The traditional answer historians – not more than two and a half thousand years ago. But how could it remain unnoticed by such an event two thousand years ago? Modern Inca told the Europeans who discovered the city, only a vague legend that once, long before the arrival of the Incas, the gods were angry with the ancient builders and sent a terrible earthquake which destroyed the people of Tiahuanaco, and their capital had disappeared in the waters of lake Titicaca.
Mathematical and astronomical calculations of Arthur Poznansky show that the natural disaster occurred in the XI –XV century BC. The scientist’s calculations based on the difference between the angle of the Ecliptic (the axis of rotation of the Earth) during the construction of the complex and in our time. 41 a thousand years axial tilt varies from 24.5 to 22.1 degrees. Each time period corresponds to a certain inclination of the axis calculated by simple formulas. By the angle of the Ecliptic at the time of construction of the building can be calculated and the time of its construction. But how to find this angle at the time of construction?
Poznań proposed a novel solution. Based on the orientation of the sun, some buildings in the city, in particular, the cult complex Kalasasaya, the scientist calculated that the angle of inclination at the time of construction was 23 degrees 3minuty 48 seconds. This means these facilities were constructed more than 17,000 years ago. A group of German scientists in the staff of the Director of the Potsdam astronomical Observatory, doctor of Hans Ludendorff, Dr. Friedrich Becker from “Specula Vaticanii”, astronomer, Professor Arnold Konsultera from Bon University and Professor Rolf müller from the Institute of astrophysics in Potsdam engaged in a thorough validation studies Dr. Poznansky. Scientists came to the conclusion that his calculations are correct.
Who were the people who built the city of Tiahuanaco, and how did he die? The cause of the accident, according to the same Poznan, steel “seismographic shifts, which led to the overflow of the lake and volcanic eruptions”, accompanied by unprecedented flooding. According to his testimony, during excavations it was discovered that the remains of people and animals are “in a chaotic mess along with processed stones, tools, and countless other various items. See it destroyed and dumped in a pile some force”. Peruvian legends contain a story about a large flood that occurred in ancient times, reminiscent of the deluge.
The origin of Tiawanako associated with Atlantis, and a mysterious race of titans – the demigods that once lived on earth, and with mysterious white Indians. Scientists suggest that in Tiahuanaco there was a cult of Viracocha, which (according to the legends of the Indians) was a light-skinned man with a white beard wearing a long white robe and sandals. He was good, but the people who encourage evil sorcerers, forced him to leave these lands and he moved to the East.
Few artifacts have survived from these unknown architects. Mysterious Pyramid of Akapana, the largest structure in the city, has a height of 15 meters and the length is 152 meters. “Sun gate”, located in the temple of Kalasasaya, is the most famous monument of the ancient city. They are decorated with a mysterious image of an unknown deity in the crown of snakes and heads of Cougars.
Inside the temple are still standing two massive sculptures, one of which was nicknamed “the monk”. Carved from Sandstone, with a height of 1.8 meters, the sculpture depicts a humanoid creature, holding in his right hand an object resembling a knife with a wavy blade, and the left – a strange object resembling a book. The second sculpture also has a distant resemblance to the man holding strange devices. Excavated walls and terraces of huge, well-treated blocks, the purpose of many of the buildings is unclear.
Near Tiahuanaco are scattered in disarray huge blocks weighing from 100 to 450 tons, as if blown back by a giant explosion. The blocks were connected to each other with metal beams, similar to I-beam. Such facilities not found anywhere else in South America, and it should be noted that these blocks have a perfectly smooth surface, as if they cut out a huge cutter. Our civilization of such level of stone processing have not yet reached.
For centuries there were legends about the great buildings, hidden under the water. In 1980, Bolivian scholar and writer of Huto Boero Rojo has announced that he has found the remains of settlements at the bottom in the North-Eastern part of the lake. At a press conference, he said: “We found a temple, built of huge stone blocks, leading to who knows where stone roads and stairs, which are hidden in the lush thickets of seaweed”.
In early 2001, the Italian scholar Lorenzo Epis confirmed the presence at the bottom of the lake remnants of the ancient city. He said that “the sacred temple has the dimensions of 660 feet (200 m) to 160 feet (49 m), and according to bi-Bi-si, “under the water found terraces for growing crops, a road and a wall length of 2600 feet (790m). These ruins are pre-Inca period”. Well, the lake is in no hurry to reveal its secrets and is waiting for new researchers.
